In elementary school, Adriana won many beauty pageants but despite that, she had never thought about becoming a model. Adriana went to a modeling contest with a school friend of hers because her friend was nervous and did not want to enter the contest alone. Both of them sent their pictures and the competition's sponsor soon asked Adriana to come for the contest. Then at the age of 15, Adriana got first place in Ford's "Supermodel of Brazil" model search and got second place in the Ford "Supermodel of the World" contest the same year before contracting with Elite Model Management in New York City.

Adriana in 2017 was named "the most valuable Victoria's Secret Angel" as she was the longest-running model. Since 2013, she is also known as a spokesmodel for her Super Bowl and Kia Motors commercials and Maybelline cosmetics.

Andriana is involved in charitable work for helping an orphanage named, "Caminhos da Luz" (Paths of Light), located in Salvador.
